Gold Glitter And Fall Leaves
Hi scrappers! It seems I am getting in my fair share of fall-inspired pages this year! This page features a photo of my husband and I in Iceland back in November of 2018. We spent the afternoon hiking to a magical waterfall and took some truly amazing photos that day. The warm browns and yellows in the photo go great with the autumnal leaves and glittery golds I chose for the page.
I started with some paper from Momenta’s Black and White stack. It has a nice subtle pattern that isn’t too distracting. I layered over some gold polka dot paper from The Paper Studio’s The Shoppe on the Square stack and some black floral paper from Pink Paislee’s Auburn Lane 6 X 8 stack. 6 X 8 is such a weird size for someone who usually works with 12 X 12 dimensions but in this case, the paper size worked well. I had a large piece of yellow-orange cardstock in my paper wrap stack that completed the paper collage.
I took some acrylic page and a large sponge applicator and dabbed some orange and white along the edges of my black and orange papers. I used a paper napkin to dab and blend the paint and create some texture. An embossing punch by Momenta was used to make some leaves in various colors and put some of them in a shaker a made from some black paper and a gold-striped transparency from Heidi’s Swapp’s tag kit by American Crafts.
I thought using little glue dots along all the edges would be sufficient to contain all the glitter I put in my shaker but it was definitely not. The next morning when I picked up my page, I quickly realized the glue had become unstuck and large amount of glitter fell out the bottom into my carpet where it will probably remain forever. I regret using such fine micro glitter because it keeps working its way out of my shaker and all over my house!
Lastly, a mini MAMBI banner, Some gold vellum tags, and some stickers from American Crafts’ Crate Paper book complete the look.
This page was created for A Cherry on Top’s Becky Fleck 248 sketch. Once again the provided a very spooky Halloween sketch and I took it in a totally different direction. My page turned out more sparkly than spooky.
This page was also created for the Color, Stories, Inspiration October challenge. Even though all of the photos on their mood board were Halloween-themed, I still found inspiration for my page.
