Scrapbook Challenge
It’s A Cat Thing!
Red, Red, Red!
Hi everyone! This week I bring you a two page spread, which is something I tend to not make very often. I don’t always have enough photos from one event to make two cohesive pages. I usually follow a sketch and since most sketches are single page, I tend to stick with that. I suppose I could use the same sketch and rotate or flip it, but I never do. When you make your pages, do you prefer one or two page spreads?
I started with some basic white cardstock and added strips of red grid paper from Prima Marketing’s Rock Out Bro stack. I used that same paper as a mat for two photos stacked horizontally. Some raid paisley print paper and red chevron washi tape were layered in. I used a square of red polka dot fabric I’ve had in my stash for years (I think I originally got it because it was part of a little sachet that was a wedding favor or Christmas gift) and added that in too along with some fake flowers, buttons, enamel dots and brads by The Paper Studio. My favorite part of the page (besides the photos of my two kitties mid-play) are the vintage kitty postage stamps. I’m not sure if they are actual stamps or just imitations, but either way, the red toned ones were the perfect embellishments for this page.
This dual page spread was created for the White with 1 December/January challenge. The color this time was obviously red and it was fun finding vibrant and cat-themed red items in my stash. This challenge came with an accompanying sketch that was a two page spread which is why I didn’t just make a single page this time.
That’s all for this time. Thank you for checking out my page. You can find me on YouTube and Instagram @thescrapattack for more crafting content.
