Paper Scraps And Texture Paste

Hi scrappers! This week I created a layout using lots of paper scraps. The photo was taken in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. This is another time when I brought along a maxi dress to the forest in order to get some fun photos!

I used an olive green striped paper from the Goldenrod stack by American Crafts as my background. All papers besides my background paper and the photo mat were from my stash of scraps. You may recognize some reused papers from my recent Spooky Fun and The Best Day Ever pages. The photo mat was a piece of handmade paper I had that had pieces of straw and plant matter in its that further matches the theme. It’s a little hard to work with when trying to glue down since it completely absorbs rubber cement and my adhesive dots kept peeling off but I finally was Abe to stick it down. I added in a piece of vellum with a torn edge and added some Apricot stencil butter and a circular stencil from The Crafter’s Workshop for even more texture. The title was created using chipboard words by 49 and Market.

The color palette comes from case file 421 over at Color, Stories Inspiration. I loved the unusual fall color palette that included pink. I also used the following ‘evidence’

  • Autumn-Themed Items

  • Leaves/Trees

  • Moon

  • Starburst

  • Grid Design

  • Labels

  • Vellum

  • Texture Paste

I used sketch 585 from Sketches in Thyme. I liked all the layers and the fact I had some stencils very similar to the circular coffee stain designs included on the sketch. I cut my 5 X 7 photo down to more of a square and added lots of scraps behind my photo.

That’s all for this week. I’m taking a vacation and will be away from my scrapbooking supplies for a while so I will see everyone again in mid November. Happy scrapping!
