Spring Flowers Meets Fall Leaves
Hi again everyone! Can you believe July is almost over? Summer is speeding by and I’m not sure whether to lament not going to the beach enough or look forward to cooler weather ahead. This week’s page harkens back to fall in the forest when all the leaves were turning yellow. I always bring a dress with me when my husband and I travel in the event that there will be a photo op like this! The yellow dress matched the fall leaves perfectly and this ended up being a really fun photo shoot.
I started with some basic yellow cardstock and cut a smaller piece from Vicki Boutin’s Sweet Talk paper from the Sweet Rush collection. I liked how the text in darker yellow matched my background paper pretty closely. I cut a seven inch piece of fabric tape by 49 and Market and hid the uneven ends with thin paper scraps from my stash. You’ll recognize the green scallop pattern paper from my “All Because Two People Fell in Love” page from a few weeks back! I relied heavily on stickers from The Happy Planner’s Pressed Floral sticker book and I used a whole sheet of 3D floral stickers from The Paper Studio. I liked how the antlers and arrows felt more like fall. The have been in my stash forever and I was glad I ended up using them all rather than leaving one or two stickers on the sheet which I will then horde for another eternity. I added some metallic leaf brads and enamel dots by Simple Stories as finishing touches.
This page was made using Becky Fleck sketch 336 over at A Cherry on Top Crafts. I used two photos instead of three and swapped out owls for large autumn leaves and lots of little flowers.
This page was also created for the July Book Lovers Challenge. Using the book cover as inspiration, the challenge put forth this month was to use lots of yellow! The requirements were the following:
At least 50% of the page must be yellow
Solid yellow background
At least one patterned paper with yellow in it
At least one yellow embellishment
Yellow in at least one photo
That’s all for this week. I will see you soon in August with a brand new page!
