Scrapbook Challenge
Capture The Life You Love
Black, White And A Little Bit of Gold
Hi scrappers! This week I made a layout featuring some fun photos my husband and I took for Christmas cards a few years back. We brought little fairy lights and wrapped them around a tree by a lake. I like that these photos are festive, but not overtly “Christmasy.”
I used some polka dot paper from The Paper Studio’s Mint to be Fab stack and matted kit with black paper to give some contrast with the black background. The washi tape I used had some gold foil accents that matched the polka dots and used a 2 inch hexagon punch to easily make some shapes out of black and white paper scraps. I used some black and white items from Vicki Boutin’s All the Good Things diecut frames, including what I used for the title. I finished up with some paper flowers, puffy hexagon stickers, and black metal keys.
This page was made for the September Sketch with a Twist challenge at A Cherry on Top. The twist was to add a small creature of some kind to the layout. I added a bee using decorative brads from the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection.
This page was also made for the White with One September challenge where the color this month was black. I used some washi as the mood board dictated also liked the golden glow from the light in the bottom middle photo and was inspired to add some gold.
That’s all for this week. I already have some ideas for my next page so I can’t wait to be back soon with a new page!
