Life Is Beautiful

Using A Circle Punch To Make Your Background

Hello everyone! This week I made a page with a few more photos taken at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles when my husband and I went to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour.

I used some pastel paper from the American Crafts Spring stack for my background. Using a circle punch, I created lots of circles from Pink Gold Drops paper by Recollections. To make the circles pop, I edged each one in gold paint using pearlescent watercolors by Yasutomo. I also splattered some of the gold over my background paper (partly to disguise the accidental drops I got on the paper while painting my circles.) There are some mixed media elements above and below my photos, made with some gold stencil butter and a grid stencil by The Crafter’s Workshop.

I had some leftover hexagons made with a Sizzix diecut that were in colors that matched the page. I added a few in clusters along with some frames by 49 and Market, some ice cream cones from Minty Papers, and some tags by Aall & Create. I added a few enamel dots by Simple Stories to finish.

I used Weekly Sketch 434 at A Cherry on Top Crafts. I replicated the circle pattern on the background and used mixed media stenciling as the shading behind the photos. Some large phrase stickers from the Amy Tangerine sticker book made up my title.

I found a new monthly challenge called Colorful Options and here is their beautiful mood board for April! All of their challenges are rainbow color themed and this month is specifically pastels. The speckled paper I used reminded me of the paint swatch image in the mood board. The tea cup has golden accents so I added gold into my layout too. I have lots of rainbow paper in my stash so I am looking forward to their challenges in the future!

That’s all for this week. If you are looking for a new challenge to participate in, check out the Taylor Swift themed one I host here. There’s still time to play for the month of April!
