Weekend Love

Green Botanicals

Hi scrappers! This week I bring you a layout featuring some photos taken at June Lake last year. These were taken in the fall when all the leaves were turning colors. Despite the autumn tones in the photos, the page features exclusively spring green tones that really make my pictures pop.

I started with three separate green patterned papers from the same stack. I’ve lost the cover sheet to this stack that tells me the manufacturer so I have no idea who makes it. All I know is that the paper is very thin so I definitely can’t use it as a base without some thicker cardstock beneath it. I cut some various strips, some on a diagonal, and used the to frame the top and bottom of the page. I added additional stripes with thin green ribbon and the thinnest washi tape I’ve ever seen by Create 365. I created a tag with my Marvy Uchida punch and decorated with some gold foil leaf washi tape by Bentoto House. I used some green wreath stickers (I think the brand is Miss Time?) and a real leaf preserved in acrylic. I always check the clearance items in the jewelry making section of my local craft store. Sometimes I find great embellishments! Some paper flowers, brads by Bo Bunny and some botanical washi tape stickers complete this leafy page.

This page was created for the Sketches in Thyme November challenge. I love this sketch and I love how my page came out even more! I don’t use a lot of diagonals so it was nice to do something a little different. I feel like the diagonals on this page were especially striking. Most of my pages feature one or two photos but hardly ever four! I cropped them way down so they would fit and flipped their orientation from the original sketch.

This page was also create for the White…with 1 challenge. I always love their challenged. I wish there were more weeks in the month so I could participate every time! I used baker’s twine and washi tape on my page, although if I had green herringbone print paper in my stash I certainly would have included that too.

That’s all for this time. Can you believe the next post will be in December? 2021 was so short! If you would like more Scrap Attack content, give me a follow on Instagram and YouTube.
