It’s A Beautiful Day

Washi Petals And Vintage Elements

Greetings scrappers! Christmas is almost here but this week I bring you a very un-Christmasy page. These photos are from several years ago when California got lots of rain and the following spring brought with it an impressive super bloom. All the flowers made for a beautiful backdrop for these pictures.

I used a piece of polka dot paper from The Paper Studio’s Affinity stack as a matte for some yellow and blue floral papers, both from the Eclectic Remix stack also by The Paper Studio. Some rub on letters by Heidi Grace and layered chipboard by Bo Bunny made the page’s title. Does anyone else use random ephemera as their titles rather than just accents? Sometimes it’s easier than thinking up one on my own, especially if the alphabet stickers I want to use don’t have all the letters I need. I used some washi petals by The Washi Tape shop to create little accent flowers. This is the first time I’ve used a product like this and I really love it. There’s something so satisfying about peeling and sticking little petals to build your own flowers.

This page was created for the Cherry on Top Becky Fleck challenge #255. I loved the cute puppies in the sketch but I of course went in a totally different direction. I used two large photos instead of six smaller ones but kept the same general paper layering. I used a large clock face from a Tim Holtz ephemera pack as my circular embellishment but I moved my title since it wouldn’t fit.
