Scrapbook Challenge
Step Into Christmas
A Very Merry Layout
Happy holidays scrappers! I usually don’t make Christmas pages because I never remember to take photos. However, a couple years back, my husband and I did a holiday shoot with our cats who don’t really enjoy being held for long periods of time. The results were a little…chaotic. We ended up with some very comical shots and these are just a couple.
I wanted a basic background so I used some white textured cardstock by The Paper Studio. I had bought the green double-sided loose leaf paper by Basic Grey because I initially liked its reverse side. However, the Christmas side with trees and snowflakes was perfect for this page. I paired it with some red paper by Paper House which also felt very festive. The patterned papers were really the stars of this page, but I also embellished with some K & Company chipboard stickers, glittery red brads by The Paper Studio, green Bob Bunny rhinestones, and some washi stickers by an unknown brand. I cracked open some American Crafts alpha stickers for the title and only used letters that were red or green. I think this page came out festive and fun!
This page was created for the Scrap Our Stash December challenge which was to add at least two triangles, hexagons or diamonds to a page. I loved design team member Stacy Harper Watson’s layout so much that I did a scrap lift of the whole page but tweaked it for horizontal photos and the embellishments I had. The little handmade triangle met the criteria so perfectly and allowed me to use up some very old fiber.
This page was also made for Color, Stories, Inspiration’s December challenge. Usually they provide “Evidence” prompts but this time it was left all up to the creator. Apart from being inspired by the color palette, I imitated the white background and overall Christmas theme. I added in some gray snowflakes like the inspo pic and used some alpha stickers that had diagonal stripes like the little heart next to the coffee mug.
Lastly, this page was made for the December music challenge at A Cherry on Top Crafts. The challenge was to use Elton John’s song “Step Into Christmas” as the page’s title. It took me a minute to find some appropriate alpha stickers that had all the correct letters I needed, but I did it! Considering my cat’s lack of enthusiasm, maybe a more fitting title would have been “Dragged Into Christmas.”
That’s all for this time. I’m hoping to squeeze in one more page before the new year. Fingers crossed! I hope you all have a merry and safe holiday season!
