Scrapbook Challenge
Rainbow Bright
All The Colors!
Welcome back scrappers! This week I bring you a super colorful page with some pretty unique photos. These selfies were taken with my phone at an interactive art exhibit in Las Vegas called Omega Mart. This place was huge and even though we were walking through it for hours, I’m not sure we saw everything inside. There was a wall covered with fake flowers that were all painted white and colorful light designs were projected onto them. This is where I took these photos and they turned out pretty cool! I wanted a colorful page to go with my colorful photos.
This month’s Cherry Box from A Cherry on Top Crafts came with some beautiful double-sided Vicki Boutin papers. I used The Horizon paper and cut one and a half inch strips to go around the edge of a sheet of Rainbow Swirl paper. (I used the opposite side in case the name of the paper doesn’t make sense.) Normally I would just cut down my center paper and paste it in the center of my background paper but in this case, I wanted to use some of The Horizon paper as a photo mat too. This technique allowed me to use that extra paper rather than keeping it one big piece that I partially covered. I used adhesive tabs at the corner of my strips to make sure they were tacked down really well to try and disguise the fact that the outer frame is actually four separate pieces. A perfectly sized piece of black cardstock from my last page made for a nice thin photo mat.
I used some Vickie Boutin texture paste in Blueberry Sour along with The Crafter’s Workshop Stencil Butter in Orchid and Fuchsia over a Vicki Boutin Bubbles stencil. The Crafter’s Workshop products are metallic while the Vickie Boutin paste is matte so I got a unique combination of finishes when I mixed them together.
I just received my first order from Kawaii Pen Shop (unboxing coming soon to my Instagram) and included in the package were some colorful vintage ticket stickers. I added a few in matching colors as well as some Dylusions washi tape by Ranger. My Cherry Box also came with some alpha puffy stickers by Thicker. I used some Art-I-San acrylic markers to color in the word “Rainbow” in shades of pink, purple and blue and paired it with some watercolor alpha stickers by EK Success.
Some layered flower stickers and stickers from the Color Study sticker book by Vicki Boutin complete the page.
This page was created for the Sketch N Scrap July challenge. I liked the super thick frame since I usually make thinner outer frames on my pages.
That’s all for this week. Thank you for visiting and I will see you next week. Happy scrappin’!
