Scrapbook Challenge
Gather Fabulous Moments
Using Minimal Products
Hi scrappers! This week I did something I don’t usually do and used just one (yes one) paper. That’s it. No extra paper scraps, no paper to mat my photo, nothing. On top of that, this page only uses four products (not counting adhesives,) which for me is probably a record. Usually I have at least a dozen things pulled from my stash and scattered all around me. I may just use one sticker or a few enamel dots, but I usually end up using a bunch of different products and almost always incorporate various paper scraps. This time, I really simplified things but somehow, this page looks even more complex and fancier than normal.
Everything I used is by 49 and Market. The butterfly paper, laser cut elements and ephemera bits are all from the Plum Grove collection and the fabric tape is from the Viken collection. I used some foam mounting tape on both my photo and some of the ephemera around it to pop them up and give a 3D effect. All of the delicate flowers require great care when punching them out initially and can be a real pain to glue down. I had to cut my adhesive dots into very small pieces to avoid adhesive being visible around the edges. It took me a while to arrange and glue everything down, but I am so thrilled with how this page turned out and I feel like it has a different vibe than my usual pages.
This page was created for the 49 and Market April sketch challenge over on their Instagram. I liked that this page had plenty of white space so I could let the pretty background paper I used shine. Rather than use a solid pice of paper for the strip behind the photo, I stacked four inch pieces of fabric tape to create a similar element. I think I like this better than if I had used normal paper, plus it helps use up this gorgeous fabric tape that I wasn’t sure what to do with.
This page was also created for the 3 in a row challenge at A Cherry on Top Crafts. I used:
Any Shade of Pink
Flower Cluster
Inking or Splatters
That’s all for this week! This page was especially fun! I felt that I was more focused since I had less items to choose from rather than being overwhelmed with an entire table of stuff to choose from! I have to continue using up my scraps and old products though before I drown in them!
Thanks for visiting me and I will see you soon for another challenge.
