Scrapbook Challenge
Free As the Flowers
Hexagons And Washi
Hi scrappers! This week create a page using minimal products that make a big impact! I used photos that were taken several years ago when I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding in Sacramento. She got married at a historic hotel in a beautiful ceremony and husband snapped these photos out front when we were getting ready for the official photographer.
I used some sage green paper from the DCWV Shimmer Stack. It’s hard to tell in the photo, but this paper is very metallic and definitely has a different finish from the other papers on the page. I used a one inch hexagon punch to cut out dozens of little shapes, a few in vellum, the rest in both solid and patterned cardstock. I used up lots of little scraps in my stash as well as a piece of double sided cardstock from the DCWV Copper Luxury stack. I also used a page from this stack as a mat for my photos. Since this paper had some chrome rose gold accents, I added in some washi tape that also had rose gold accents. I tacked down my vellum pieces with little rose gold brads and used a large sticker from the Pressed Florals sticker book by The Happy Planner as my title. As a finishing touch, I used up whatever stickers were left from a Jolee’s Boutique sticker sheet I had.
This page was made using the sketch for Lasting Memories Challenge 663. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use it. I love hexagons and had just gotten a new inch I hadn’t used yet. This was the perfect chance to try it out and I love the way the page came together.
This page was also made for the Manufacturer with a Twist challenge at A Cherry on Top Crafts. The challenge was to use a manufacturer with a three word name (I ended up using The Paper Studio and The Happy Planner) and then use an element or technique that starts with one of those letters (for me either Punch Or Hexagon worked.)
Thanks for visiting and I will be back in September (how did we get here so fast??) Stay safe in this hot weather and keep scrapping!
