Scrapbook Challenge
One Fine Day
Bold And Beachy
Hi scrappers! This week scrapped some photos from a trip to Hawaii that we took last year. We found a pretty lagoon where many movies and TV shows were filmed where the waves were nice and small. Hi husband snapped these photos and I finally decided to scrap them.I normally don’t love swimsuit photos of myself since I’m definitely heavier than I used to be (and I struggle with body image issues like so many of us do. I was a ballet dancer for the entirety of my young life up through college and was very thin. It wasn’t until my mid thirties that my genetics and metabolism caught up with me and now I struggle with how I look. My lovely husband told me for much of the trip how he licked how I looked in this swim suit in particular so I’ve decided to move forward and scrap this page. I have several other photos like it and even more swim suit photos from previous trips that I hope I get the courage to scrap soon.
I used some deep blue cardstock from The Paper Studio’s Bright Cardstock stack. I had a large scrap of orange paper so I used a tropical leaves embossing folder with my Sizzix Big Shot to add some texture. Since the scrap was so big, I had to run it through twice. The seam in the design is masked by my photo placement. I cut a strip of striped paper from My Mind’s Eye’s Everyday Tango stack. I liked the bold colors and how the reds and greens matched my photo. I added in some coconut palm stickers by Jolee’s Boutique and Viken chipboard pieces by 49 and Market. I also added in some very old beach stickers I had in my stash from Trinity Paper Arts that had the same bold color palette.
This page was made for the September Title challenge over at A Cherry on Top Crafts. We were given the choice of making a page with the title “One Fine Day” or “Moments that Matter.” I chose the former and created a little banner with baker’s twine and alpha stickers by Hazel & Ruby.
This page was made using sketch 280 from Sketch N Scrap. I followed this sketch pretty closely for a change and even kept the title and cluster placements the same.
That’s all for this week. I will see you all soon with a new page!
