Color Dare Design Team Challenge #636

UFC Party

Neon Brights

Hi scrappers! I’m back again with Color Dare with challenge 636. The color palette this time around was especially bright, leading me to use some papers I wouldn’t normally utilize. The finished page is certainly bold and unexpected!

The photos I used are of my husband and our cat. He loves watching UFC and our cat joined him. She’s been known to watch TV and shows on our phone, so it was very cute seeing her cuddle while watching the fights.

I started with some neon green alpha print paper from the Rock Out Bro stack by Prima Marketing. I have had this stack for a very long time and I am sure I bought it because at the time I didn’t have anything in my stash like it. While the papers are unique, there’s many in the collection where I honestly don’t know when or how I will use them because they are a crazy color or print. This neon green paper was one of them but it ended up working as the background paper for this page. Since I knew the title would have ‘UFC’ in it, I liked how the paper had letters all over it.

I used some purple cardstock from the Splash stack by The Paper Studio. The purple matched the color of the sheets in my photos, tying the photos into the layout. I used a brand new stencil by Aall & Create with some Apricot stencil butter and added some texture all over the page. I ended up adding in several polka dot elements including two types of washi tape, some tags by K & Company, a triangular paper scrap and even some patterned enamel dots. Another fun element is a piece of holographic ephemera by Shimelle. The word ‘Snap’ appears over the camera only at certain angles but fortunately, it showed up in the photo!

Here is the color palette for Color Dare challenge 636. I used all four colors but you can choose any three for your own project. Come share what you made with us!

I used the top left sketch from Sketch N Scrap’s selection of throwback sketches. They had an additional challenge to use papers on my layout that were at least a year old. The neon background paper is probably closer to ten years old so I’m pretty sure that qualifies!

That’s all for this week. Thank you for joining me and I will be back soon with a whole new page. More ScrapAttack content can be found on Instagram and YouTube if you are looking for more video content showing how I make my pages.
