Using Rub-Ons And Cut Outs

Hi scrappers! This week I made a collage out of lots of paper scraps and placed some photos and ephemera on top. The pictures I used were taken in the fall a few years ago in the woods.

I started with some basic green cardstock from the Affinity stack by The Paper Studio. I layered lots of paper scraps including some thick yellow handmade paper with lots of little twigs and plant fibers in it. I then used some foliage laser cut elements and rub-ons by 49 and Market in the upper left and lower right corners. The jar ephemera and lace border are also by 49 and Market. From there, I added some dragonfly PET stickers and some foam stickers by Simple Stories as well as a few adhesive brads. I sprinkled everything with dark green paint to pull it all together.

This page was made using the sketch from the January 2025 Sketch with a Twist challenge. The twist was to use a border punch but since I didn’t have one, I used the lace cut out as my decorative edge.

This page was also made for case file 447 at Color, Stories, Inspiration. I used the color palette and the following inspiration while making my page:

  • polka dots

  • woodgrain

  • hearts

  • leaves

  • dragonfly

  • jar

  • labels

  • ink

  • circular things

  • metal

That’s all for this week and for the month of January! I will see you all soon in February with an all new page!
