You Jelly?
Patterned Papers And Fish Stickers
Hi scrappers! This week I made a layout with some photos taken with my sister at the Seattle Aquarium in front of the jellyfish exhibit. Since the light behind the tank was a bright yellow color, I matched that with some yellows on my page.
The background is some mottled red paper from the Evergreen & Holly stack. I paired it with some yellow star-print paper from the Hey Little Girl 6 X 8 stack and some large dot print paper from the Vicki Boutin Kaleidoscope stack, both by American Crafts. I also had a random scrap of striped paper in the same colors so I used that whole scrap in the upper left corner.
To break up the red background, I used some yellow and turquoise acrylic paint and then used stencil butter in Gamboge and Turquoise along with a stencil by The Crafter’s Workshop layered on top to make a mixed media collage. Since all the patterned papers were already so busy, I didn’t add too many other elements besides the stickers for my title, a few tags made with a Marvy Uchida punch, some brads by Doodlebug, and some enamel dots. I didn’t have any jellyfish stickers, but I had some cute puffy stickers with other sea creatures that were in the right colors. I love the octopus most of all!
I used the sketch from the April Sketch with a Twist challenge at A Cherry on Top Crafts for this page. The twist was to use enamel dots which I did by scattering across the page. I used two larger photos instead of four small ones, and moved where my title was since it ended up being so large.
