Oh La La Girl

Color Blocking And Owl Print Paper

Hi scrappers! This week I’ve created a page featuring a photo taken at the Flower Fields a few years ago. They grow tons of ranunculus here and for a few weeks, you can come and tour the grounds while the flowers are in bloom. We took so many photos here that even years later, I still have photos waiting to be scrapped.

I started with some cute owl print paper from Heartfelt Creation’s Sugar Hollow collection. I have a hard time where there is already so much that I want to showcase printed on my background picture. It’s a delicate balance of showing off the paper, but not letting it overwhelm my photo. I also feel like if I don’t “do enough” on a page, then I haven’t done a good job. In this case I only added paper and embellishments down the center of the page. I used some small paper pads by Echo Park and Paper Pizzazz to create a color blocked section down the middle. I used few key embellishments including some paper flowers, flower stickers from the Happy Planner Pressed Florals sticker book, ephemera and puffy stickers from the New Day collection by Echo Park Paper, and enamel dots. Lastly, I used an old chipboard frame I had to frame my title which was a piece of ephemera from My Mind’s Eye.

This page was created for Becky Fleck sketch challenge #315 at A Cherry on Top Crafts. I felt like this was a great sketch for the paper I had. It allowed me to showcase the cute little owls on both the left and right.

That’s all for this week. You can find me on You Tube and Instagram at thescrapattack. I will see you next time!
