Scrapbook Challenge
Scenic Snapshot
Outdoor Textures And Tones
Hello again scrappers and welcome back to my corner of the internet. This week I decided to scrap a photo of my photographer husband. He’s the one who takes the majority of the pictures I scrap and I'm so lucky to have him both as a loving partner, and the family documentarian!
I started with one of those papers where the moment you see it, you wonder when you will ever use it! The Gone Wild stack by DCWV has all kinds of glitter-infused animal prints and textures. This elephant-inspired print, while really pretty and full of texture, wasn’t something I could picture myself using since I didn’t have any actual pictures of elephants lying around. I feel like I saw this all the time but the really weird papers you don’t know what to do with, can often end up making the most striking pages! I paired it with simple woodgrain paper from The Paper Studio’s Dendrology stack.
I used some transparent fern stickers where the two papers meet, and then opened up a set of Green Dye washi tape and used the pine tree design. I placed the washi first on white paper so the transparent tape would be more visible. I think this washi accent is my favorite part of the page (besides the hidden hedgehog stickers by Mrs. Grossmans.) I added green and orange accents from 49 and Markets Plum Grove Chipboard Set and Ephemera Bits as well as some Goldenrod floral die cuts by One Canoe Two. I also added in some wooden accents by Shimelle to add even more texture to the page.
This page was created for the March challenge over at Color, Stories, Inspiration. I felt the color palette really matched my photo, especially with the greens and oranges. There were so many opportunities to work in the list of prompts they provided and I made it a game to see how many I could fit into this page!
“Evidence” Used:

This page was also made for sketch challenge #556 over at Sketches in Thyme. I liked the simplicity of the sketch and the two tone background paper. I didn’t use polka dots but added a heck of a lot of embellishments!
That’s all for this time. There’s so many other March challenges around the internet that I want to try so I hope to be back soon with another layout.
