Blue And Yellow Beach Vibes

Hi scrappers! This weekend flew by so quickly! My husband and I just celebrated our ten year anniversary and took a trip to the beach and got tickets to a music festival. We had so much fun and made lots of great memories. Because I wasn’t home, I didn’t get to do all the scrapbooking I was hoping to and unfortunately this is only the second National Scrapbooking Day challenge I was able to complete, but that’s ok. I can’t scrapbook memories if I never go out and make them!

This particular photo was taken a year or two ago when we spent the day at Laguna Beach. Summer weather will be coming soon and I’m looking forward to more days like this once the May Gray and June Gloom clears up!

I started with some striped paper from the Recollection’s Girl’s Life stack. This paper stack is so huge that I don’t know how I am going to use it all up! The paper is also very thin so I mounted it on some neon yellow cardstock from the Affinity stack by The Paper Studio for more support. I cut a piece of double-sided cardstock by Momenta in half and used the blue and yellow side. I layered over a piece of 6 X 6 paper from the Creative Agenda stack by Echo Park Paper Company which was also in the perfect yellow shade. I used some paper with a natural fiber weave design to make a tag. This came from the Art C Tropical Ephemera Pack which also had some black plastic and wooden elements I used as well as the brown twine I tied into a bow. Some stickers from the Moxxie At the Beach collection perfectly matched both the color and the theme of the page.

I used the sketch from Scrap Our Stash’s May challenge where circles needed to be included. I used two different sized circular punches as well as a large circular sticker to create this funky fun page.

This was also a NSD challenge over at A Cherry on Top. The ask was to simply create a summer layout. Being a California girl, beach trips a synonymous with summer so I created this layout perfect for a summer beach selfie.
