Scrapbook Challenge
She’s The Best
Purple And Pink
Hi scrappers. Today’s layout is girly, purple and pink, and has lots of washi. It features a picture of my cat who’s looking pretty judgmental as per usual, but she’s still so cute.
I used some floral washi to create some stripes on some basic white cardstock. I then used some purple paper from the Color Swatch Lavender paper set by 49 and Market and added a slightly larger piece of pink paper from the Eclectic Remix stack by The Paper Studio. I used some frames also from the Color Swatch Lavender collection and then added in some stickers from the Colorful Boxes Sticker book by The Happy Planner and the Shimelle sticker book by American Crafts. This was an easy and fun way to add interest to the page by just building upon the frame and adding in layers. Pieces of washi, stickers, ephemera, whatever you have can all be a part of a collage frame. It was an impulsive choice that I think turned out really nice! I also added in a few laser cut elements from the Color Swatch Lavender collection and some kitty washi stickers from an unknown brand.
This page was created for the May challenge over at the 123 Challenge Facebook group. The provided colors are so bright and fun and I’m assuming the title was in reference to all the moms out there for Mother’s Day, buuuuut I made it about my cat instead. I also tried something new by wrapping pink ribbon around a piece of scrap paper in reference to that detail in the sketch. It doesn’t lay very flat but other than that, I think it added a unique element.
This page was also created for the May washi challenge over at A Cherry on Top. The challenge was to create a background using washi tape. Even though I ended up covering most of my background paper like usual, the striped pattern I created still shows a little. I can’t believe I used over 6 feet of this washi and it barely made a dent in the role! I’m never going to use up my stash at this rate!
That’s all for now. Thank you for visiting and I’ll see you for hopefully one more layout before we get into June!
