Stencils And Mixed Media

Hi scrappers. May was full of lots of fun events including my birthday and a weekend get away. I even when to go see a ballet company! As this month comes to a close, I bring you one more layout featuring a photo from another wonderful event last year when we went to a friend’s wedding. Isn’t the flower wall in the background pretty? We took a quick selfie in-between dancing since the backdrop was so nice.

Both the flower paper and pale green carsick are from the ancient depths of my stash. The patterned paper is Green “Handmade” Leaves by Paper Pizzazz and I couldn’t even find a brand on the cardstock. They are both finally out of my stash and a part of this lovely page. I used two green-toned paper scraps and some bird print paper from Prima’s Nature Garden 6 X 6 pad. My title and the golden flower stickers are from the Pressed Florals sticker book by The Happy Planner. Over the top, I layered some mixed media elements using a 6 X 6 screen print stencil and Pearl White stencil butter, both by The Crafter’s Workshop. I also splattered some pale pink metallic watercolors by Yasutomo but it doesn’t really photograph well. Lastly, I used some pretty Indigo chipboard stickers by Prima and various elements from a junk journal pack that even had real pressed baby’s breath flowers.

This page was created using sketch #566 at Sketches in Thyme. I used a strip of washi tape in place of the scalloped detail along the bottom. Instead of a tag, I used a large chipboard sticker and and added in lots of stickers and texture.

This page was also made for the April/May mixed media challenge at A Cherry on Top. They had a beautiful mood board for the challenge which inspired my color palette. I also was inspired to use birds, add in pink flowers, baby’s breath flowers, and use the word “happy” in my title.

That’s all for the month of May! I will see you soon with another layout and a new set of scrapbook challenges!
