Home Is Not A Place, It’s A Feeling

Sparkly Washi And Die Cuts

Hi scrappers! This week I bring you a soft and elegant page featuring a photo from the past! This is my mom, sister and I posing for a photo during “Country Days,” a tradition in our small town. Every fall, there is a parade featuring local marching bands, kids sports clubs, dance teams, beauty queens and the like in a parade. There is also live music, vendors and good food! We used to go every year as a family and in this photo, we are all wearing dresses my mom made herself! I don’t have access to a ton of photos from my childhood since most of them have already been cut down small and scrapbooked by my mom, so when I do have older photos, it’s exciting.

I started with some really pretty paper from the Wildflower stack by American Crafts. I love all the shades of green and picked up those tones in the other papers I chose. I used Botanical Frame die cuts by Sizzix. Die cuts are great for hexagons since there’s no way I could cut one out freehand and have it be perfect and accurate, especially if you are trying to fit them together. I used some thin, sparkly washi by The Happy Planner to outline each hexagon which was very time consuming, but also very striking. I used the same washi on simple white tag by the Paper Studio and added some Quaint Village Girls PET stickers by London Gifties. I love how well they work with this page! A circular detail from the Along the Way ephemera pack was used as my title. I few brads by Bo Bunny and Echo Park Paper finish the page.

This page was created using sketch #567 from Sketches in Thyme. Instead of oversized flowers, I used the big hexagons and added the patterned paper strip to the left because I loved the paper so much and wanted to showcase more of it.

That’s all for this week. Thank you as always for visiting and make sure to follow me on YouTube and Instagram for more scrapbooking content!
